Quick start
- Logo upload requires Pro plan ($19.99/mo) or Advanced ($39.99/mo). Free and Basic plans support text + option sets only.
- Supported formats: PNG (most common), SVG (best for vector), JPEG, WebP, GIF.
- Default logo library on Basic+: pre-load common logos for customers to pick from instead of uploading.
- Setup: ~5 minutes per Personalizer.
Logo upload vs photo upload — why both exist
Mechanically, logo upload and photo upload are the same field type — customer uploads a file, the file saves to the order, your fulfillment uses it. The distinction is product intent and customer expectation:
- Logo upload → branded merchandise, B2B promo products, custom apparel where the customer wants their company/team logo on the product. Customer expects PNG with transparency or vector SVG.
- Photo upload → photo gifts, pet portraits, family canvas prints. Customer expects JPEG family photos. (See photo upload guide.)
You can have both on the same product if it makes sense — e.g. a "Custom Mug" with a Logo Upload (company branding) and a Text Area (employee name).

Logo file formats — pick the right ones
| Format | Recommend? | When to allow |
|---|---|---|
| PNG (transparent) | Always | Best for most logos — customers know it |
| SVG (vector) | Always | Scales perfectly; ideal for laser engraving and embroidery |
| JPEG | Sometimes | Only if your fulfillment can mask the white background. Bad for dark apparel. |
| WebP | Yes | Modern lossless option; same as PNG |
| GIF | Rarely | Animation isn't printable; allow only for digital products |
| PDF / EPS / AI | No | Designer formats; require pro tools to handle. Convert at fulfillment if needed. |
Default logo library: when to use it
Instead of (or alongside) customer-uploaded logos, offer a curated library of pre-approved logos. Customers pick from your library; no upload friction.
Use cases:
- Sports team merch — offer all NFL/NBA/college team logos pre-loaded; customer just picks their team.
- Monogram designs — offer 10-20 monogram styles; customer picks one and provides initials.
- Generic graphics — paw prints, hearts, stars, anchors — common decorative logos for engraved gifts.
- Brand-managed B2B — pre-load your client's approved logo so employees can't upload incorrect versions.
The default library is configurable per-Personalizer on Basic plan; up to 5 logos. Pro increases to 20; Advanced to unlimited.
B2B and corporate branded merchandise workflow
For B2B logo printing — a corporate client wants employee names + their company logo on shirts/hats/mugs:
- Create a Personalizer with the company logo pre-loaded in the default library.
- Add a Text Area for the employee's name.
- Optionally add Option Sets for size, color, garment style.
- Bulk-assign the Personalizer to all SKUs the client buys from.
- For repeat clients: duplicate the Personalizer and just swap the default logo per client.
Print It My Way's bulk-assignment + default library combination makes B2B branded-merch fulfillment a 5-minute setup per new corporate client.

How do I add logo upload to a Shopify product?
Install Print It My Way and upgrade to Pro plan ($19.99/mo) to unlock Logo Upload. Create a Personalizer, drag a Logo Upload step onto the canvas, set position/size/file constraints, and assign to products. Customers upload PNG, JPEG, WebP, SVG, or GIF logos directly on the product page.
What's the difference between logo upload and photo upload?
Functionally they're the same field type — file upload that customers position on a canvas. The difference is intent: "logo upload" is for customer brand assets (PNG/SVG with transparency), "photo upload" is for customer photos (JPEG family pictures, pet portraits). Both save as line-item properties on the order. Print It My Way supports either or both on the same product.
What logo formats should I accept?
For laser engraving: PNG (with transparent background) or SVG (scales perfectly). For printing on apparel: PNG or SVG; avoid JPEG because the white background prints visibly on dark shirts. For embroidery: customers should upload PNG or SVG, and your fulfillment converts to embroidery format. Print It My Way accepts all five formats; pick which to allow per-product.
Can I provide default logos for customers to choose from?
Yes. Print It My Way's default logo library lets you pre-load common logos that customers can select instead of uploading their own. Useful for sports teams (offer all team logos), monogram designs (offer common monogram styles), or branded merch (offer your client's pre-approved logo). Available on Basic plan and above.
How do customers position their logo on the product?
Print It My Way's canvas lets customers drag the uploaded logo to any position, scale it to any size (within configured min/max), and see the live preview. They can also reset to the default position you set up. Touch-friendly on mobile.
How much should I charge for logo upload?
Per-logo fees are typically higher than per-text-area fees because logos require more print preparation. Common fees: $5-10 per logo on apparel, $10-15 on engraved products, $5-8 on photo gifts, $15-25 on premium products. Print It My Way applies the fee via Cart Transform — see our pricing guide.
How do I handle B2B branded merchandise orders?
For repeat B2B clients with their own logo, configure a default logo library entry per client. Or use the bulk-assignment feature to set up a personalizer where the client's logo is pre-set and customers (employees) only enter their name. Print It My Way handles 100+ logos in the default library on Advanced plan.
What happens to uploaded logos after the order ships?
Logos remain in long-retention cloud storage so your fulfillment can re-fetch them if needed (re-prints, lost orders). After 90 days post-order, customer-uploaded logos may be archived to cold storage; reach out to support if you need to retrieve an older file.
