What are the best Bold Product Options alternatives for Shopify?
The strongest 2026 Bold alternatives: Print It My Way ($0-$24.99/mo flat, Cart Transform native, live canvas, real free plan), Hulk Product Options ($8.90/mo base per Shopify App Store, math fields), Globo Product Options (free tier + tiered plans, multi-language), and Easify Product Options (26 option types per their site). Print It My Way is cheapest at every tier and doesn't use the aging hidden-product pattern for pricing.
Step-by-step setup
- Audit what you use in Bold. Which fields, which pricing model, which conditional logic?
- Match features to alternative apps. Cart Transform native or hidden-product? Free plan or trial?
- Test with Print It My Way Free. No credit card, permanent free plan.
Why merchants leave Bold
- Variant-based pricing pattern: Bold uses OPTIONS_HIDDEN_PRODUCT to charge for add-ons, cluttering cart and admin
- Premium tier price: $39.99/mo for Premium is high vs newer alternatives at $13.99-$24.99
- Legacy UI: feels dated vs Cart Transform-native apps
- No permanent free plan: trial only

Migrating from Bold
Step 1: Export your Bold option sets (Bold admin > Export). Step 2: Install Print It My Way (or your chosen alternative). Step 3: Recreate option groups; hidden products from Bold need to be deleted post-migration (Bold creates OPTIONS_HIDDEN_PRODUCT items in admin). Step 4: Test on one product. Step 5: Bulk-apply to remaining products.
