How do I add a photo crop tool to Shopify uploads?
Install Print It My Way Pro ($13.99/mo: photo upload on Pro and above). Add a Photo upload field, enable the crop tool, and lock the crop to your print aspect ratio (e.g., 4:5 for 16×20 canvas). Customer's uploaded photo shows a crop overlay locked to that ratio; they zoom, rotate, and reposition until it looks right. Result: print file fills the frame perfectly. No white bars, no unwanted clipping.
Step-by-step setup
- Install Print It My Way (Pro tier). Photo upload + crop on Pro ($13.99/mo).
- Add photo upload field. Print It My Way > Add field > Photo upload.
- Enable crop tool. Toggle 'Enforce aspect ratio.'
- Set aspect ratio. 4:5 for portraits, 1:1 for square, 16:9 landscape.
- Test with sample photo. Upload, crop, verify preview.
