Cause
Two variants have same combination of option values. E.g. 'Small Red Cotton' exists; you're trying to add another 'Small Red Cotton'. Shopify blocks.
Find the duplicate
Products → Variants → sort by option values → look for duplicate rows. Or export CSV → Excel duplicate detection.
Fix
- Delete duplicate variant
- Or modify option value to make unique
- Save
Prevent via CSV validation
Before CSV import, run duplicate check in Excel. Highlight duplicate rows. Fix before import.
