Shopify Bundles (native, 2023+)

Shopify's native bundle feature since 2023. Setup:

1. Products → New product → Bundle type
2. Add component products (from your catalog)
3. Set bundle price (or auto-calculate from components with discount %)
4. Configure inventory: track components (each sale decrements component stock) or track bundle (independent inventory)

Native. Free. Works on all Shopify plans. Best for standard bundles.

Bundle + personalization

Each bundle component can have its own personalization. E.g. wedding suite bundle:

• Save-the-date (personalized with couple names + date)
• Invitation (personalized with same names + venue + RSVP)
• Thank you card (personalized with couple names)

Bundle at $250 vs individual pricing at $75 × 3 = $225 → shows customer 11% discount for bundle.

Personalizer attaches to each bundle component. Customer configures each item; bundle price applies.

Mix-and-match bundle setup

Customer picks N items from full catalog:

• Personalizer repeater field OR Bundle Builder app
• Customer selects (e.g.) 5 shades from full lipstick palette
• Cart Transform applies bundle price ($40 for 5 vs $12 each × 5 = $60)
• Validate: customer must select exactly N items to qualify for bundle price

Cart-level bundle discount (Cart Transform)

Alternative to bundle products — automatic discount when specific combination in cart:

• Cart Transform rule: IF cart has 3+ mugs from Category "Photo Mug" → apply 15% discount
• More flexible than fixed bundle
• Doesn't require creating bundle product
• Customer sees "Bundle discount unlocked: -15% on qualifying items"

Volume bundle (3-pack, 6-pack)

Same product in multi-packs. Setup as variants:

• Variant "Pack size": 1-pack ($20) / 3-pack ($54, save $6) / 6-pack ($102, save $18)
• Each variant has own SKU, inventory, weight (heavier for larger packs)
• Personalization applies per bundle sale (all units same design typically)

Bundle pricing display strategy

Show savings prominently:

• Bundle page: "3 mugs — Save $10 (Reg $75, Bundle $65)"
• Component pages: "Buy 3 as bundle and save $10" cross-sell link
• Cart line: "Wedding Suite Bundle — Savings: -$25"

Bundle + POD fulfillment

Bundle with POD:

1. Customer configures bundle
2. Order created with bundle SKU + component references
3. Each component syncs to correct POD partner (mugs to Printify, apparel to Printful)
4. POD partners fulfill components separately; customer receives multiple packages OR merchant consolidates

Configure per bundle whether shipments consolidate or ship separately.
