What a personalizer template is
A personalizer template is a reusable set of fields you can attach to one or many products. Example: a "Basic Engraving" template with one text field (max 20 chars) can be attached to all your engraved jewelry SKUs. Change the template once, all attached products update.
Create your first template
- Print It My Way dashboard → Personalizers → New personalizer.
- Give it a name (e.g., "Basic engraving").
- Click Add field → choose Text, Dropdown, Radio, Checkbox, Color swatch, Image swatch, File upload, Photo upload, or Date picker.
- Configure the field — label, character limit, required/optional, default value, per-option upcharge (via Cart Transform).
- Add more fields if needed. Free plan allows 2 fields per template.
- Click Save.
Field type quick guide
- Text — for engraving, names, custom messages. Set character limit (15-40 typical).
- Dropdown — for 6+ options (font choice, breed selection).
- Radio — for 2-5 mutually exclusive choices.
- Checkbox — for yes/no add-ons (gift wrap, warranty).
- Color swatch / Image swatch — for visual selection (color, material). Basic tier and above.
- Photo / File upload — for customer uploads. Pro tier and above.
Next: attach to a product
Your template exists but isn't live anywhere yet. Continue to Attach personalizer to a product to link it to a specific SKU (or bulk-apply to a whole collection on paid tiers).
