Enable photo upload with DPI validation

Which tier is required
Photo upload is on Pro tier ($13.99/mo) and Unlimited. Free and Basic tiers don't include photo upload.
Setup
- Personalizer template → Add field → Photo upload.
- Set accepted formats — JPG, PNG, HEIC (iPhone) recommended.
- Set Max file size (10 MB default, up to 100 MB on Unlimited).
- Enable Crop to aspect ratio and set the ratio matching your print output (1:1 square, 4:5 portrait canvas, ~2.5:1 mug wrap).
- Enable DPI validation — soft warning below 150 DPI at print size, hard block below 100 DPI.
Filters and background removal
Optional per-product features on Pro tier:
- Filters — None, B&W, Sepia, Vintage, Pop Art, Watercolor. Baked into the print file at full resolution.
- AI background removal — 80%+ auto success rate. Ideal for pet portraits and product cutouts.
- Multi-photo collage — 2-12 slots with per-slot aspect ratios (family photo mugs, wedding albums).
Where uploaded photos are stored
On Print It My Way's secure cloud storage — encrypted at rest and in transit. Files are linked to the order line-item property, accessible in Shopify admin, and passed to POD partners (Printful, Printify, Gelato) via their standard integrations. Default retention: 90 days post-fulfillment.
