iPhone HEIC photo upload issues

How Print It My Way handles HEIC
Print It My Way auto-converts HEIC (Apple's High Efficiency Image Format) to JPG with EXIF orientation preserved. This handles the vast majority of iPhone uploads correctly.
Common issues + fixes
- Photo appears sideways. Print It My Way reads EXIF orientation and rotates accordingly. If it still shows sideways, the source HEIC may have corrupted EXIF metadata. Ask customer to re-save the photo (e.g., forward to themselves via iMessage first, then upload the re-saved copy).
- File rejected as unsupported. Verify your personalizer's Photo upload field has HEIC in the accepted formats list.
- Colors look washed out. HEIC uses P3 color space (wide-gamut); conversion to sRGB may lose saturation. For color-critical products, ask customers to upload JPG in sRGB format.
Force JPG-only
If you consistently have issues, restrict accepted formats to JPG + PNG only. In the Photo upload field settings, remove HEIC from accepted formats. Customer's iPhone will prompt them to convert.
